Queensland coach Kevin Walters has not ruled out picking Greg Inglis at fullback for next month's State of Origin series opener in Sydney.

Darius Boyd was tipped to wear the Maroons No.1 jersey against NSW on June 1 after being picked as Kangaroos fullback in last week's trans-Tasman Test win with Inglis in the centres.

But Walters was undecided on the make-up of his backline which must also fill the void left by the retired Justin Hodges and the injured pair of Billy Slater (shoulder) and Will Chambers (foot).

"Those guys are going to be in the team, it's just a matter of where we put them," Walters said of Boyd and Inglis.
